This Fall River Personal trainer Hates Cardio

So, I was waiting for my personal training client to show up the other day at workout world in fall river. I was just looking around, the free weight area was dead. Mostly everyone was on the cardio machines. I thought to my self why, does everyone love doing cardio so much.

Honesty, I cant stand cardio. It, so boring and repetive. There be on there for like an hour or so. Just taking it nice and easy watching some tv reading a novel. Maybe, I have ADD or something but its just lame. I can kind of deal if, I'm outside jogging the board walk. Even then, I need my i Pod to avoid massive boredom. Which I smashed with a 45lb dumbbell a month ago. So, that out the window. You won't
see any of my personla training clients doing cardio like this.

I feel like these people aren't going any were either, they look the same they did last month and the month before. I'd rather spend my time doing quick interval training, which it seems to be just as effective if not more. It keeps my body fat down, and gives me excellent conditioning for MMA. Intervals training does similar things for my clients. It might be harder but, it's well worth the extra effort. Keep the tv's and book's at home and do some work. After all we are at the gym.

Something really cool, happened yesterday. While I was training my client. This guy at the gym who is mostly heavy weight lifter. Came up to and told he lost 4lbs since last week. Which obviously is awesome. As a personal trainer that mean a world to me.

See he came up to me last week, asked if I could measure his bodyfat. He told me how he was trying get cut. I just breifly explain to him, how he could throw some interval training in to his cardio routine. Explaining that it will help you burn a bunch of calories, in and outside gym, because it increases your metabolic rate. Which lead to fat loss . Only if I could tell alot people about Interval Training at once. Ow yeah, I just did.

Here's a sample routine how to do interval training, Fall river I would love to hear from you comment, ask questions at the bottom.

Sample Interval Routine on Cross Trainer (same principles can be applied to practically any cardio exercise)
5 minute warm up
Set resistance at 5
Go as fast you can for 30 secs
Active rest for 1 minute, a good steady pace.
Repeat for 12-20 minutes
5 minute cool down
